Last night I was trying desperately to remember the name of the band I was thinking about and couldn't do it. So I decided to ask my girlfriend and ponied up all the information I could remember:

"I can't think of this band. I want to download some of their songs and I need your help. They were an alternative band in the mid to late 90's. They're not together anymore. I can't remember the name of their songs or any of the lyrics. Their songs weren't too heavy or punkish. They were definitely alternative but not too grungy. You know who I'm talking about?"

And thanks to the power of Google I did find out the name of the band. And then the moment of clarity came when I realized I actually had one of their CDs. I was on top of things last night!
