This morning on the way to work I heard a commercial on the radio for an eye clinic offering THE OPTION for customized LASIK eye surgery, completely customized to your eye problems.

Which raised many questions:

• The option?
• Shouldn't customized eye surgery be the only option?
• What the hell is the other option?

We're going to do this expensive surgery on your eyes that isn't covered by your insurance, but we're just going to randomly fire the laser and hope it fixes whatever problem you might have. We'll just use the settings from the last guy that was in here. If you want us to for sure fix YOUR problem well that's customized and we all know that customization costs more.

Considering the fact that if someone fucks up your eye surgery you are likely going to be BLINDED FOR LIFE, it kind of makes glasses and contacts not seem like such a bad solution, since the whole customized thing isn't even an option for those.
