Well, I don't think any one can say that the Super Bowl was a disappointment. I think it was obvious that the Panthers played their hearts out and this game was going to come down to who had the ball last. Losing by a last second field goal is tough, but when I think back to all the games we won with a field goal we were probably due to lose one in the same fashion. It was a game where even though you were disappointed the Panthers didn't win, you realized you just saw one of the best games ever. For me, the Panthers season did something I didn't think could happen, it really got me to fall back in love with professional football. For the longest time I much preferred college football because it was obvious the guys were playing with their hearts, because they really loved the sport. Sure some of them were trying to get to the pros, but think back to a game like Ohio State and Miami for the national championship two years ago - those guys played their guts out and left it all on the field. That's what it's been like for the Panthers this year. They played with heart and emotion, lead by a great leader in Jake Delhomme, and never gave up. I was proud we did as well as we did and proud that we had the game we did. I'm also proud for the season we had, it was a ton of fun to experience first hand.
The Super Bowl party we hosted obviously didn't end the way we wanted, but we do have some happy pictures of our own Carolina Panther, complete with the cape that Erin sewed for her:

Super Bowl Ani had a great time at the party and enjoyed all the attention lavished on her by the guests. She didn't make the whole game with her Panthers cape on, but we knew deep down inside she really liked it.
