Growing up in the early to mid 80's I watched a lot of Nickelodeon (which started in 1981 when I was 6), shows like Double Dare, Turkey Television, Mister Wizard's World, Lassie, Dennis the Menace, Heathcliff and Inspector Gadget. Heck I even watched The Monkees once or twice. But there was one show that always took the cake: You Can't Do That On Television. This is the show that started the trend of people getting "slimed" when they said "I don't know" and was instrumental in the development of many kids my age. I still remember some of the recurring phrases like "Where does the school board find them, and why do they keep sending them to me?" and "Who do you think's in the burger?" Lots of memories there that remained latent for all these years have been brought back to the forefront of my mind. I might just have to have a Barthy Burger for lunch today.
